Families relocating to Charlotte are always interested in Charlotte NC area SAT scores and finding the top-ranked high schools in Charlotte NC and surrounding areas. I have compiled the table below of Charlotte NC area SAT scores for 2014, so families can see for themselves how students perform on this national test. I culled the data from huge SAT reports from the NC and SC State Boards of Education, pulling out SAT scores from all Charlotte NC public high schools, and from nearby public high schools in Union County, Cabarrus County, and Fort Mill, SC. The table below shows the SAT scores from all Charlotte AREA public high schools for 2014.

Providence High School in South Charlotte Ranks #1 on SAT Scores in 2014
As in years past, Providence High School SAT scores for 2014 rank higher than other high schools in Charlotte, Union County, Cabarrus County or Fort Mill, SC. The second spot goes to Marvin Ridge High School, a rising star in Charlotte area high schools. Cato Middle College High School, Myers Park High School, and Ardrey Kell High School round out the top five schools. Out of the top 20 scoring high schools, 12 are located in the South Charlotte area, Union County, or Fort Mill, SC. 21 area schools out-performed the national average SAT score of 1497, and 23 scored above or tied the average NC SAT score of 1469. The Union County average surpassed the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools average, but the sample of schools is much lower in Union County.

If you are relocating to the Charlotte area, and would like to look for a home to buy in a top-ranked school zone, you should use the table above as a starting guide. This table of Charlotte NC area SAT scores for 2014 provides just one indicator of a high school’s success, but these SAT scores are pretty much in line with other test scores. Since great public schools are a highly desirable factor in the home-buying process, it makes sense to buy a South Charlotte home in the best school district you can afford! Great public schools are part of the LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION mantra of real estate!
