Myers Park was designed by the renowned John Nolen, a Harvard trained landscape architect, who came to Charlotte in 1911 to collaborate with real estate developer George Stephens.  Stephens was married to Sophie Myers, daughter of John Spring Myers, who owned a 1,200 acre tract of land that would soon become Myers Park.
